Moritz Mehner advises companies at the intersection of law and technology. He supports digital transformation projects from strategic planning through to practical implementation and develops tailored legal and contractual frameworks for digital business models.

A particular focus of his work lies in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). He assists companies in the legally compliant development and use of AI systems – from the initial idea and pilot projects through to scalable roll-out or implementation. This includes, in particular, issues of digital regulation (including the EU AI Act), liability and compliance frameworks, data and platform regulation, as well as the drafting and negotiation of software and cloud contracts.

His expertise furthermore includes data law and the data economy, platform and consumer law in the digital context, as well as data protection law. He has extensive experience in commercial deal support for complex technology projects and collaborations – including legal structuring, ongoing advice, and the preparation and negotiation of complex agreements.

Another key focus of his practice is games, esports, digital content and advertising. Moritz Mehner advises developers, publishers, platform operators, agencies and brands on product design, monetisation, in‑game features, licensing and marketing, as well as on youth protection, media regulation, gambling law and copyright law. He combines his long-standing personal enthusiasm for esports with profound professional experience – ranging from the legal structuring of leagues and tournaments and sponsorship and content deals through to compliance and regulatory matters in the digital entertainment ecosystem.
