SKW Schwarz organizes first internal Legal Tech Hackathon

SKW Schwarz Rechtsanwälte will organize the first internal Legal Tech Hackathon in spring 2019. Its aim is to jointly develop ideas for technology-based solutions and products that make legal and administrative work easier and more efficient. In a second step, the ideas are to be implemented into reality and – depending on the product – used internally or at the client.

“Legal Tech and the modernizing of legal advice have been an important focus of our law firm for quite some time now,” said Stefan Schicker, Managing Partner of SKW Schwarz and – together with Dr. Stephan Morsch – General Manager of SKW Schwarz @ Tech GmbH. “This is particularly reflected in SKW Schwarz @ Tech GmbH, but will consecutively be applied in all areas of our firm.”

SKW Schwarz @ Tech GmbH, founded at the end of 2018, offers consulting in connection with digitization and the development and procurement of tools for more efficient processing of legal services.

For the development of digital tools, SKW Schwarz uses BRYTER, a no-code development platform that allows the transfer of legal knowledge, processes, and workflows into digital software products without programming skills. BRYTER is used to digitize standardized and frequently recurring processes, reviews, and decisions – for example in legal departments – to automate time-consuming standard problems.

For the Legal Tech Hackathon, the law firm called on all its partners and employees to submit suggestions on how BRYTER could be used. Following an internal presentation of the suggestions, solutions will be discussed.

“We will then hold the Legal Tech Hackathon at several offices,” said Dr. Stephan Morsch, “and as befits a Hackathon, the best results will be evaluated by a jury that also includes external experts.”
