Nikolaus Bertermann has been appointed as partner at SKW Schwarz Rechtsanwälte effective January 1, 2019.
The 46-year-old lawyer and Certified Expert in IT Law has worked as in-house counsel for a leading European Internet Service Provider for around ten years and joined SKW Schwarz in 2009 as of Counsel in the IT & Digital Business division at the Berlin office. His main areas of practice are data protection law and consulting in software and outsourcing projects, particularly in the area of digitizing the real estate sector. Nikolaus Bertermann is also a Certified Data Protection Auditor and in the past few years, has been co-head of the GDPR task force that includes members across all of SKW Schwarz’s offices. He has developed, advised and executed projects for the implementation of the GDPR for well-known national and international clients.
For the publishing house C.H.Beck he commented on central regulations of the GDPR and contributed to the forms handbook on data protection law. He is also founder and CEO of daspro GmbH, a nationwide consulting company for data protection.
