SKW Schwarz Rechtsanwälte advised the Norwegian Volue AS on the acquisition of the German Likron GmbH. The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of 2020. The transaction strengthens Volue's position as the leading provider of algorithm-based solutions for energy trading in Europe.
Volue AS, based in Oslo, develops and distributes business software and technology services for the energy, power grid and infrastructure markets. The company has more than 2,000 customers in 44 countries worldwide.
Founded in 2010, Likron GmbH is one of the leading service providers in intraday energy trading on the European Power Exchange EPEX and Nord Pool energy exchanges. Likron’s Automatic Execution Service solution manages significant volumes of orders and trades on EPEX, in addition to a high share of the aggregated trading volume from independent software vendors (ISVs) on EPEX Intraday.
