To be able to contribute to the creation of music, film recordings, brands, products, concepts, or content in general, how they are sustainably and successfully marketed or how companies and individuals are preserved in their identity with their history is what motivates me and has always filled me with great satisfaction.
Götz Schneider-Rothhaar is a certified specialist lawyer for copyright- and media law and heads our nationwide music practice group. He is specialized in the following areas:
- Music (labels, music publishers, platforms, aggregators, producers, musicians, detailed rights licensing and marketing, for example also in films and on platforms, as well as collective rights management such as by GEMA, GVL, and others);
- Live entertainment (companies and individuals in the entertainment- and concert industry), also serving as permanent legal counsel for the BDKV – German Association of the Concert and Event Industry;
- Protection of reputation and from press and online reporting (including PR- and litigation support, especially for celebrities and companies);
- Content licensing and marketing as well as anti-piracy measures in the fields of design, photography, sports, TV, advertising, photography, online trade and trademarks.
In all areas, Götz Schneider-Rothhaar is also active internationally and regularly acts as a litigator

Götz Schneider-Rothhaar is a member of the Executive Committee of the International Association of Entertainment Lawyers IAEL and the “Certified Expert in Copyright and Media Law” Committee of the Frankfurt Bar Association.
Götz Schneider-Rothhaar is a regular participant at panel discussions and conferences at professional events such as Reeperbahn Festival (Hamburg), MIDEM (Cannes / France), Eurosonic Norderslaag (Groningen / The Netherlands), and Musikmesse (Frankfurt am Main).
He also gives guest lectures, most recently at the Royal Academy of Music (London / England).
He trains Certified Experts in Copyright and Media Law and is a lecturer at University of Mainz’s Master’s Program LL.M.-Media Law.
