World Trademark Review WTR 1000: Silver ranking for leading German IP practice of SKW Schwarz

In the WTR 1000 Germany ranking recently published by the magazine World Trademark Review, SKW Schwarz was again ranked in Tier 2 (silver) with the IP department.

The publisher comments as follows:

"SKW Schwarz is a force to be reckoned with both in Germany and further afield: portfolio management and licensing briefs are effortlessly dispatched, while the firm continues to build on its impressive contentious capabilities. As a result, it is firmly on the radar of clients and competitors alike, with one peer commenting: "The Frankfurt office seems to be soaring in the trademark field, while in Munich they appear to be strong in media and unfair competition." The group makes smart use of cutting-edge legal technologies via the SKW Schwarz Innovation Lab; and the IP team keeps abreast of the latest developments through its involvement in the firm's "Branded Content" group and e-sports focus group, along with practitioners from the media and digital business departments. "

Furthermore, our partners Margret Knitter (gold), Sandra Sophia Redeker (silver), Dorothee Altenburg (bronze) as well as our partners Sascha Pres (silver), who advanced from bronze to silver, and Magnus Hirsch (bronze) received special recognition.

WTR 1000 writes about this:

Newly heading up the IP division is Berlin-based Sascha Pres, who is "engaging, passionate and extremely responsive, with strong knowledge of trademark law".

Other razor-sharp litigators on deck include Magnus Hirsch and Margret Knitter. "Margret is one of the best choices in Germany. She has broad IP knowledge and can provide comprehensive yet understandable advice. Her business approach is skilfully used in negotiations, enhancing the chances of a positive outcome."

Dorothee Altenburg is a percipient portfolio strategist and Sandra Sophia Redeker operates with agility on both sides of the contentious/non-contentious divide. She is dubbed "fast, knowledgeable and super-attentive".

The WTR 1000 remains the only publication that exclusively recommends experts and law firms in the trade mark field and this year, for the eleventh time, names the leading players in over 80 key jurisdictions worldwide.

Individuals and law firms can only be included in the WTR 1000 if they receive sufficient positive feedback from market sources. The comprehensive selection and review process was conducted over a four-month period by a team of full-time analysts and involved hundreds of face-to-face and telephone interviews with trademark professionals around the world. The publication therefore serves as a one-stop shop for anyone seeking trademark services.
