
League and tournament regulations with regard to their structure are constantly evolving. Especially in larger ecosystems with a multi-layered league structure, the question of how to draft a player from a lower division to a higher division in a legally compliant manner has been raised for quite some time. An exciting new development are so called “two-way” player contracts. In the Valorant Champions Tour, for example, such a two-way player regularly play for a lower division team and, at the same time, is under contract with a VCT Team to be called upon as substitute player if the need arises. But what legal particularities should be considered?
