SKW Schwarz supports Borussia Dortmund in taking action against AfD election campaign stickers

With the support of SKW Schwarz, Borussia Dortmund has successfully defended itself against election advertising by the AfD that referenced the BVB club colours. The AfD had circulated election stickers for the local elections on September 14 in North Rhine-Westphalia with the slogan "Beim Fußball schwarz-gelb – am Sonntag blau" (“Black and yellow for football – blue on Sunday”). 

After thorough examination, Borussia Dortmund, represented by SKW Schwarz, took legal action against this form of election advertising. In Borussia Dortmund's view, this was an unlawful attempt to establish a link between BVB and a political stance and political voting behaviour by suggesting that a BVB football fan would or must also vote for the AfD. Borussia Dortmund issued an out-of-court warning to the AfD district association in Dortmund and AfD Member of Parliament Matthias Helferich. Both the AfD district association and the Member of Parliament who received the warning have since issued a cease-and-desist declaration with penalty clause.
