SKW Schwarz advises Schörghuber group on the sale of hotel “Elephant” and inn “Zum Weißen Schwan” in Weimar

SKW Schwarz advised Schörghuber group on the sale of the “Elephant” hotel and the inn “Zum Weißen Schwan” to Hirmer group. Rostock-based arcona Hotels & Resorts will be the hotel’s new operating company. The parties have agreed not to disclose the sales price. The traditional Weimar hotel “Elephant,” whose origins date back to the 17th century, has 102 rooms and suites and an award-winning restaurant. After numerous changes of ownership, Schörghuber group took over the hotel in 2000. “Zum Weißen Schwan” is one of Europe’s most traditional inns and looks back on a history of more than 450 years. The sale of both properties is due to the recent focus of the group’s hotel company Arabella Hospitality on the operation of business hotels in large cities.

A team from SKW Schwarz, led by Munich-based partner Dr. Sebastian Graf von Wallwitz, advised Schörghuber group on the sale of the two properties.
