SKW Schwarz advises DORC on strategic partnership with WEFIS

SKW Schwarz advised DORC International on a strategic partnership with WEFIS GmbH. The partnership is based on an equity investment by DORC. The companies have agreed not to disclose the transaction volume.

DORC and WEFIS will cooperate in the field of research and development of innovative ophthalmological instruments.

WEFIS has been a supplier to DORC in the field of cataract and retinal surgery since 2003 and a business partner of the company in Germany since 2008. WEFIS, founded in 1998, focuses on developing, producing and distributing instruments for ophthalmic surgery. The company is headquartered in Cologne and runs its development and production sites in Westerburg.

D.O.R.C. Dutch Ophthalmic Research Center (International) B.V. develops and exports instruments and devices for retinal and cataract surgery in more than 80 countries worldwide and has its own sales and marketing organisations in Austria, Belgium, China, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the US.
