SKW Schwarz advised Bosch eBike Systems, a leading provider of eBike drive systems, on the acquisition of connected-biking startup COBI. The purchase price was not disclosed. The transaction is subject to approval by the antitrust authorities.
Bosch eBike Systems began operating as a startup within Robert Bosch Group in 2009. In the meantime, the company has become one of the leading providers in electro-mobility. The acquisition of COBI GmbH is intended to expand the portfolio offered by Bosch eBike Systems in the area of networked products and services.
Frankfurt-based COBI GmbH, established in 2014, develops solutions that provide riders of electric bikes and other bicycle riders with the opportunity of using their smartphones as control, infotainment, and display units mounted on the bike handles.
