Publicly listed Swedish outdoor specialist Fenix Outdoor markets its products among others under the Fjällräven, Primus, Hanwag, Brunton, and Tierra names and additionally operates retail chains of its own. Fenix and Globetrotter jointly generate revenue of about EUR 400 million.

Friederike Behrends has strengthened the Media and IT practices of SKW Schwarz Rechtsanwälte as Of Counsel since the beginning of December 2013.
Friederike Behrends, who has been admitted to the bar since 1994, has vast expertise and competence in the media industry. She has been advising companies and individuals from the media and Internet industries for several years and will contribute this expertise to SKW Schwarz, in particular in the fields of media and entertainment law and IT, Internet and e-business.
Ms. Behrends spent the past 15 years in top positions at various large media companies. Since 2013, she has been responsible for all activities of Swedish on-line TV service provider Magine on the German market as Country Manager Germany. This includes, in particular, establishing the cloud-based TV service and building a regional team.
Previously, she had been Managing Director of WDR Media Group Digital and of Internet agency Webcolony. Additionally, she has served on the advisory council of the supportive program for "Innovative Audiovisual Contents of the Film and Media Foundation of North Rhine-Westphalia" since 2012.
Other stages in her career included Bild t-online.de, where Behrends was employed from 2001 to 2008, most recently as a member of executive management, and Grundy UFA TV Produktions GmbH. In each of these companies, she was also Head of the Legal Department.
Friederike Behrends is actively involved in media policy. Among others, she was a member of the board at the Association of Private Broadcasters and Telecommunications, heading the Media Policy workgroup at the Federal Association of the Digital Economy and a member of the Cologne Media Committee and the Chamber of Industry and Commerce.

SKW Schwarz Rechtsanwälte advised Omega Diagnostics Group PLC during the takeover of the in-vitro diagnostics business of Allergopharma Joachim Ganzer KG, which is part of the Merck Group. Omega Diagnostics took over the IVD business as part of an asset deal at a purchase price of approx. 6 million euros. In addition, long-term supply contracts were concluded between Omega Diagnostics and Allergopharma. read more

In this special Issue of our IT Ticker, we would like to inform you of some of the main points of the two reforms of the German Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdaten-schutzgesetz, BDSG) in the year 2009.
The first reform relates to "scoring" and the activities by credit agencies; it was adopted by the German Federal Parliament on 12.05.2009. The second reform was preceded by data scandals and intensive discussions regarding their consequences, such as the abolition of the "list privilege". That reform was adopted by the German Federal Parliament on 03.07.2009 and approved by the German Federal Council on 10.07.2009. The planned "Data Protection Audit Act" was not adopted. Large parts of the amendments will apply as early as from 01.09.2009.

Februar 2010. – In einem einstweiligen Verfügungsverfahren vor dem LG Düsseldorf haben SKW Schwarz Rechtsanwälte für ein Filmverleihunternehmen dem Betreiber eines Streaming-Angebotes auf der Plattform kino-to sowie dessen technischem Dienstleister die Zugänglichmachung eines Films über die Plattform kino.to per Verbotsverfügung untersagen lassen.
Der Verfügungsantrag richtete sich zum einen gegen ein Unternehmen, welches über die berüchtigte Internetpiraterie-Plattform kino.to Filme zum Herunterladen per Stream anbot. Weiter wurde in Anspruch genommen der Host-Provider, auf dessen Server die rechtsverletzenden Inhalte gespeichert waren. Das LG Düsseldorf erließ die einstweilige Verfügung ohne Einschränkungen. Das erfolgreiche Vorgehen zeigt, dass auch gegen sog. Streaming-Anbieter, die insbesondere über kino.to aktuelle und erst in der Kinoauswertung befindliche Filme zugänglich machen, effektiv vorgegangen werden kann. Der stetig wachsenden Gefahr von illegalen Streaming-Anbietern kann auf diese Weise erfolgreich auf gerichtlichem Wege Einhalt geboten werden kann.

With this present acquisition of complementary technology from Diodes Zetex, Dialog Semiconductor continues to execute on its strategy of strengthening technology leadership in integrated power management. Götz ist einer der wenigen Rechtsanwälte, die über langjährige Erfahrung im operativen Investmentbanking und als Rechtsanwalt verfügen.
