Dr. Dorothee Altenburg advises and represents clients in all aspects of intellectual property law, in particular in the buildup of national and international trademark strategies as well as the exploitation and defence of trademarks, design rights and patents. Besides searches of trademarks and designs as well as their prosecution before the Offices of Germany, the EU and WIPO, Dorothee Altenburg administers and monitors trademark registrations and –portfolios worldwide. She has significant experience in the conception of license- and co-existence agreements as well as in litigation matters before German Courts in IP and unfair competition matters. In order to ensure effective enforcement of IP rights, Dr. Altenburg collaborates with Customs authorities and coordinates EU-wide customs seizure proceedings against counterfeit products.

A further focus of her work lies in the advice and representation of publishers, media companies and artists in the fields of copyright and publishing law as well as personality rights.
