Sony Music Entertainment is participating in the European classical music business of DEAG Deutsche Entertainment AG
Munich, 23th of July, 2009. A team of SKW Schwarz Rechtsanwälte, led by Prof. Dr. Mathias Schwarz, Dr. Sebastian Graf von Wallwitz and Dr. Matthias Nordmann, have advised Sony Music Entertainment in the acquisition of 49% of DEAG Classics AG (DEAG Classics).
This strategic partnership is an important step for Sony Music towards expanding its classical and event business. By way of this transaction, DEAG Classics is strengthening its existing position in the area of classical music in Europe and will have available the support from one of the world’s largest entertainment companies to further promote worldwide expansion.
Closing of the transaction remains subject to the approval of the competition authorities.
