Media and Entertainment Law
In the area of media and entertainment law SKW Schwarz is one of the leading firms in Germany. What started at the end of the 1940s with films has diversified across all media and entertainment sectors: films and TV, press and publishers, music and sport, games, theatre, advertisement.
The media and entertainment sectors are subject to rapid technical and legal changes and there are no standard problems from either a legal or economic vantage point. Many of our lawyers have a key advantage in that they have worked as company lawyers in the media and entertainment industry.
Lawyers of our media and entertainment law department actively contribute to the training of copyright and media law specialists and are active members of the German producer association Allianz Deutscher Produzenten – Film und Fernseh e.V. For example, they participated in the establishment of Media Business Academy and Deutsche Filmakademie e.V. Many lawyers of our media and entertainment team have contributed to “Handbuch des Film-, Video- and Fernsehrechts” (a handbook of film, video and TV law; ed.: v. Hartlieb/Schwarz) and the loose-leaf collection “Recht im Internet” (ed.: Schwarz/Peschel-Mehner).
