SKW Schwarz advised Travian Games on acquiring a majority stake in Bright Future
SKW Schwarz Rechtsanwälte advised Travian Games GmbH, headquartered in Munich, on acquiring a majority stake in Cologne-based development studio Bright Future GmbH.
This step will intensify the collaboration between Travian Games and Bright Future, a development studio with a staff of 38 that also develops the FIFA MANAGER franchise for EA Sports, on Miramagia and an additional, as yet undisclosed, browser release. Bright Future will continue to work independently on its own productions.
Travian Games (jointly with its affiliates) is one of the most successful providers of browser games worldwide and employs a staff of about 230. The company and its affiliates are currently offering eight published products in various genres. The games are offered for free of charge in more than 50 countries and 42 languages. More than 120 million players have already registered for one of the games.
SKW Schwarz advised Travian Games on due diligence and the drafting and negotiating of the contracts. The law firm was able to resort to its renowned expertise in the games industry and experience in M&A transactions of mid-sized companies.
