SKW Schwarz advises Perform Group on acquisition of Spox Media and mediasports
SKW Schwarz Rechtsanwälte advised Perform Group PLC on its acquisition of Spox Media GmbH, Munich, and of mediasports Digital GmbH, Hamburg.
The businesses were sold by Düsseldorf-based private equity firm Cresces Sports Media AG and by management. The maximum consideration will be about EUR 12 million. SKW Schwarz Rechtsanwälte advised the client jointly with media law firm Wiggin LLP, London. The firms had already collaborated on various transactions in the past.
Perform is market leader in the marketing of digital sports content across several platforms. The group owns one of the world’s largest portfolios of digital sports rights relating to more than 200 leagues, tournaments and events. Perform Group has been listed at the London Stock Exchange since April 2011. The transaction will significantly enhance Perform’s presence in Germany.
Spox Media, founded in 2007 operates spox.com, one of Germany’s leading sports websites. In 2011, it averaged over 1.6 million unique users.
